Calculator: the Revenu Québec attestation and its 7- and 10-day deadlines

Enter the contract you’re about to sign with a subcontractor. The calculator tells you whether the Revenu Québec attestation is required, and by when you must receive it and verify that it’s genuine. Nothing you enter is kept.

The deadlines are counted from this date.

For example 12,500 or 12,500.50.

The total, before taxes, of this year’s contracts with them, not counting this one. Leave blank if there are none.

The rule in brief

The Revenu Québec attestation is required for a construction contract between a contractor and a subcontractor, for work that needs an RBQ licence, once the contracts with the same subcontractor reach $25,000 before taxes in the calendar year.

Until the end of the 7th day after work starts, the subcontractor must hold a valid one and give you a copy. No later than the 10th day, you must verify that it’s genuine in My Account for businesses (Mon dossier pour les entreprises).

Once the threshold is reached, the requirement applies to every later contract between the two of you, whatever its amount.
